Primal Diet™ 101

This course is for new folks who are just discovering the Primal Diet™, for those on the diet less than 2-years, and curious health enthusiasts who would like like to dip their toes in the water. This class discusses the basics of the diet, strategies to transition smoothly, and common pitfalls. Please read We Want to Live and The Recipe For Living Without Disease before attending.

Your Primal Family Journey Begins

Join other families who are seeking and searching for the frontier beyond fad diets and traditional alternative health models of herbalism, Ayurveda, homeopathy, and Wise Traditions. You will understand the 10,000 foot view of the Primal Diet™, how to incorporate meaningful changes over time, track your PD evolution, and navigate outside opinions and influences. Discover a primal family rhythm, create new traditions, and learn how delicious, life-giving foods can reenergize your adventure in raising our future generation.

Primal First Aid

Modern emergency medicine in the U.S. is the finest in the world. We will give an overview of the basic ABCs of first aid and then discuss some of the practical remedies from natural sources that have been replaced by toxic drugs which have detrimental side effects to the optimal healing processes. We will give you a list of natural products that Primal Diet™ers keep in their first aid bag.

Natural Farming

Aajonus required farmers to hold certain standards to grow the healthiest foods. We will discuss why these protocols are important and give examples of how some farms are striving to meet these standards, continue to experiment, and return to the natural farming practices that traditional, sustainable cultures employed for optimal health of the plants, animals, humans, the soil, and the planet.

Mental Health and the Primal Diet™

What if mental illnesses, addictions, temperaments, and certain unfavorable personality traits are rooted in nutritional deficiencies? Join Otis and Kat as they dive deep into the spiritual, physical, and emotional implications of our diets. Learn how to translate addictions and cravings for toxic substances into the body’s request for nutrients, minerals, or lifestyle changes. Learn the importance of sleep and how to adjust your environment for optimal regeneration.

Germs and Parasites are Our Friends

For generations we’ve been taught that germs and parasites are invaders that attack the body. But nature doesn’t work through warfare. In this talk we explore a radically different view: that microbes and parasites may actually play supportive and beneficial roles in the body’s ecosystem. Rather than causing disease, they respond to toxicity, imbalance, and environmental conditions within the terrain. We will examine how the fear of microbes developed and what changes when we begin to see them as participants in the body’s natural processes rather than enemies to destroy.

Supplements, Salt, Oxalates, and Other Diets

Many modern fad diets have come and gone in the last 50 years typically created from the USDA and FDAs collaboration with Big Pharma’s marketing propaganda and government programs to mislead us and make great profits. Intelligent people have recognized this and tried to find alternative diets and supplements to buck the corporate agenda However, many of these alternatives are just mimicking the misguided medical model and aren’t much healthier than the medical models they are trying to confront. We will look at several of these programs and discuss the pros and cons to help clear up some misunderstanding and direct ourselves back to really the only naturally healthy diet that humans have ever eaten to maintain extraordinary, disease-free health for thousands of years.

Join this men’s only discussion about health and the Primal Diet™. This is an opportunity to be speak in confidentiality with your own gender, be heard, held, supported, ask for feedback on your specific challenges, share victories, learn some tools to get back into balance physically, emotionally, and mentally. This is safe place to develop friendships with other like-minded women and expand your support network.

Eating Primal Diet in Public & While Traveling

In this presentation, we’ll dive into real-world ways of staying on the Primal Diet™ lifestyle alongside friends and family who eat ‘normal’ food—without making it a big deal. You’ll see the exact setup that Sam who travels 10–20 times a year and has been on the diet for over 22 years uses—through airports, restaurants, group outings, and home-cooked meals with non-Primal loved ones. Walk away with actionable takeaways you can start using right away, so you can enjoy traveling and eating with people you care about… while still honoring your personal health.

Primal Parenting

We will look at strategies to consider when raising your children on the Primal Diet™. Give real life examples of what works and what doesn’t. We will look at the unique needs of each child and the parents and how to foster compassion, understanding, set boundaries, and build confidence in your ability to develop and direct your child towards a life of physical, emotional, and mental health.

Detoxify Your Home

Modern city living bombards us with toxins that are harmful to life. Whether its EMFs, fire retardants, pesticides, plastics, fluoride, formaldehyde, household cleaners, or even toxic communication among roommates or coworkers, learn how to identify household toxins, find ways to prioritize and remediate toxins, and learn how to reduce, eliminate, and choose alternatives to accomplish your goals with natural solutions.

Internet Security

With our mode of communication relying on smart phones, electric devices that link us up to the worldwide web and massive data processing center that are controlled by a few of the largest corporations in the world. We feel it is important to be discerning about where, how, and when we utilize this powerful tool. Here, we will learn where the biggest vulnerabilities are, how to reduce your internet foot print, and introduce you to tools that are more supportive of our privacy and security.

Primal Diet™ 202 - Preparing for Detoxification

Often times, we are in such pain that we are tempted to take extreme measures. We get tempted by get fixed schemes and fall prey to the tragedies of the misinterpretations of the Primal Diet™. This diet is not a quick fix. Often times we will begin to feel better immediately, however, there will be highs and lows. This is a 40-year lifestyle change to achieve optimal health and the focus should be on doing the basic building blocks one day at a time. Let’s avoid getting wrapped up in chasing symptoms or pushing a detox which can do more damage than good and get us quickly discouraged. Now, if you are reaching the 3-5 year mark, you are ready to look at some of these specific tools to tweak your healing process. Here we will look at some of these strategies to put your Primal Diet™ into high gear.

Primal Pets

This presentation explores the application of the Primal Diet™ for optimal pet health, focusing on the ancestral dietary needs of dogs and cats. You will learn how transitioning animals from processed commercial kibble to a biologically appropriate diet of raw meats, organs, and unpasteurized dairy can improve vitality and address common health issues.

Primal Diet™ 303 – Resolving Difficult Health Challenges

Here we will look at some specific difficult situations that require deeper investigation and nuanced health plans to help resolve diseases like Lymes, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Crohn’s, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Autism, MS, and Cancer. This is a class for participants, health practitioners, and Primal Diet™ Coaches to explore challenging situations and deepen our understanding.

Primal Dentistry

Discover the relationship between raw foods and oral health through the lens of the Primal Diet™. This session breaks down the specific dietary practices of reversing cavities, healing gums, and building strong teeth. We will cover the biology of tooth decay, how raw animal fats and minerals are utilized by the body for dental repair, and everyday dietary strategies to implement these concepts for optimal oral health.

Philosophy of the Primal Diet™

Learn about the Primal Diet™ from the lens of various philosopher’s views on science and epistemology. We will be analyzing how Aajonus came to his understanding of health and how this compares with other popular diets and health methodologies. We will discuss the role that biochemistry, empiricism, exploration, and intuition have on our understanding of health. We will be challenging the reductionistic view of health popular in mainstream and alternative health circles.

Honoring Our Elders

Join this virtual call and watch video footage with several old friends as they share stories about working and living with Aajonus. Meet people like Kimberly Williams who authored “Raw to Radiant” an approachable, researched, how-to manual for understanding and engaging the Primal Diet™. Ownaza who was Aajonus’ colleague and girlfriend who created some of the remedies in We Want to Live; Louis Cangemi one of Aajonus’ first clients and oldest friend and massage therapist still alive today; John Reed, another of Aajonus’ oldest friend’s and massage therapist and wrote the book “Hot Tub Therapy- For Natural Healing” explaining per Aajonus’ standards how to properly do the hot baths and why and directions for building one. And, of course, video of Jim Ellingson, Aajonus’ business partner who committed his life to getting this “very important work” out to the world.

Workshops

Natural Farming – Beef Processing

We will be slaughtering and processing a beef. You will get a chance to watch this in action and ask questions pertaining to the natural process growing and preparing our food and the circle of life. We will discuss how grass-fed farming is sustainable for humans, the animals, the soil, and the planet. Also, learn about the best tools for cutting and grinding and how to sharpen your knives.

Food Prep Demo – Butter, Lube Drink, Facial Body Cream

The Primal Diet™ really could be called the raw animal fat diet as the raw fats are the most essential components to remedying disease and achieving optimal health. Come learn how to make butter from milk, prepare the Moisturizing Formula/Lube Drink, and Facial Body Cream. These are foundational lipidizing ingredients of the Primal Diet™ and you need to know how to make them, have them available every day, and make them taste good for you and your family.

Natural Farming – Chicken Processing

Come watch how we raise our chickens naturally and process them without scalding water on soaking in tubs of chlorine, lactic acid, or citric acid chemicals which cooks and toxifies the meat. We will discuss our meat-fed bird-raising protocols and how chickens are part of a sustainable farming operation and sustainable planet.

Natural Farming – Milking Demo

Come watch our morning milking routine. Learn about natural dairy farming without vaccines, antibiotics, salt-minerals, iodine cleaners, or grains. Learn about the challenges of natural dairy cow husbandry, weening cattle off drugs and grains, and the several generations it takes to build a hearty, healthy, chemical-free herd.

Fiber Spinning Overview (fluff to yarn)

Learn how to use a drop spindle to create yarn from wool. Learning this ancient craft provides a window into the lives of our rural ancestors, a calming and useful handcraft for these times, and an embodied understanding of yarn structure for weaving and knitting. We’ll also cover preparation of wool into spinnable fibers, spinning wheels, and how to finish newly spun yarn. You will walk away with an understanding of the process of creating yarn, and depending on your interests and dexterity, you might also have a new hobby. This workshop is an additional $25.

Weaving Overview (yarn to cloth)

Learn how to weave yarn into cloth using a simple hand loom. Learning this ancient craft provides a window into the lives of our rural ancestors, a calming and useful craft for these times, and an embodied understanding of cloth structure. We’ll also cover preparation of wool into yarn, larger looms, and finishing newly woven cloth. You will walk away with an understanding of the process of weaving, and depending on your interests and dexterity, you might also have a new hobby. This workshop is an additional $25.

Dynamic Meditation

Osho noted that Americans were addicted to their thoughts and emotions and thus had a difficult time sitting in silence. They needed a forceful activity to exhaust them physically and discharge thoughts and emotional to prepare themselves for stillness. Come get your energy out and ultimately sit peaceably with nowhere to go, nothing to do, and just be.

Natural Building

Learn about sustainable building with natural materials. Simple age-old tools and techniques can produce healthier living spaces and are easy and fun for the whole family. Learn basic techniques and walk away empowered to build with your hands, simply tools, and raw materials from the earth and animals. Make your own natural cutting board from trees from the land, bricks from clay out of the creek, and learn about basic home and hot tub construction. This workshop is an additional $25 for materials.

Contra Dance

This form of folk dancing is made up of long lines of couples, although you do not need to be in a coupleship to participate, who move up and down the line to the directions of a “caller”. It has mixed origins from English country dancing, Scottish country dancing, and French dance styles in the 17th century. Sometimes described as New England folk dance or Appalachian folk dance. United States. Come get on your silly!

Appalachian Trial Hike

Relax the afternoon in one of Nature’s beautiful refuges. The historic Appalachian Trail runs the rim of the Burkes Garden Valley. Enjoy some time walking outdoors with a group of friends new and old connecting to the wildlife and the beauty of Nature.

Varmit Race

This is not a sponsored event by the Primal Planitz™ Conference. However, it will be happening consecutively. The Varmint Half Marathon & 5K is an annual running event held in Burkes Garden, Virginia. The race takes place in the high-elevation, circular mountain valley known as “God’s Thumbprint,” offering scenic views of the Appalachian Mountains and farmland.

ACOA Meeting

Many of us who seek healing have experienced challenges at the hands of medical or religious abuse. Or, we were born into dysfunctional families where alcohol, drugs, medications, and emotional abuse were the norm. While the men’s and women’s groups are safe places to share these issues, we also are leading a traditional Adult Children’s of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families 12-step meeting open to those who self-identify with these characteristics and are wanting support. This meeting is confidential.

Kid's Program

Food Prep – Butter, Milkshakes, and Lube Drink

We will be mentoring the kids to make butter and their own delicious Primal Diet™ recipes. Butter should be foundation of your children’s Primal Diet™. With it, they stay calm and focused. When prepared well Milkshake and lube drinks can be delicious treats for building healthy and happy children.

Getting to Know Wool and Needle Felting

See, touch, smell different kinds of wool, spin it with your hand on your knee, and pull apart different types of yarn. Learn traditional needle felting which involves applying layers of wool on top of each other and pinning the layers together with a needle This is a fun and easy skill for children and adults to learn and get to know the properties and joy and beauty of wool.

Natural Building for Children

Learn about sustainable building with natural materials from the land. Get your hands dirty harvesting materials from the earth and trees – straw, sand, rocks, branches – to make simple natural dwelling and household supplies. Be prepared to be covered in mud and learn how to create with your hand and simple hand tools.
